Canvas Training Registration

1.1. Thank you for your interest in attending Canvas Trainings, hosted by CU's Learning Technology Consultants.

Please indicate which of the following trainings you are interested in attending. Note that you can select more than one training depending on your needs. Once you have selected a training format, the option to to select a date and time will appear below.

Note: Please register for any workshops or drop-in sessions that you plan to attend. If registration numbers are low, the session may be cancelled.

Canvas Showcase

This one-hour demonstration is designed for instructors and staff interested in learning more about Canvas and its affordances. The session will provide attendees with an overview of Canvas's features while also modeling continuities between Desire2Learn and Canvas.

Introduction to Teaching with Canvas

This training is designed for instructors and staff who are ready to start developing their courses in Canvas. Topics covered in this two-hour training include: basic navigation, creating announcements, uploading and managing course content, communicating with students, assignments, quizzes, discussions, student groups, calendars, and course analytics.

Canvas Migration Support

This two-hour training includes guided assistance to help instructors and staff who want to migrate their courses themselves through the process of moving their existing Desire2Learn courses to Canvas, as well as drop-in support for instructors to adjust their course with assistance on hand. Topics covered will include: basic Canvas navigation, the migration process for moving courses from D2L to Canvas, copying components between Canvas courses, organizing content and assignments into modules, publishing course materials, and viewing your course as a student. Additional time will be allocated for individual questions and one-on-one migration support.
